So, you want to spray paint stencils! Spray paints leave a clean, smooth finish that is free of paint brush lines and the splotches that sponges might create. But, as easy as it is to spray paint from a can, it’s not so easy to get good results. So, there are a number of tricks you need to know about.
There will be a lot of solder fumes during the soldering, so make sure that you are wearing a Face respirator and have good ventilation in your work area.
The second thing to do is to look at where the pin 1 reference on the chip is. Rotate your circuit board so that when the chip is transferred over, it will be in the right position with pin 1 markers lined up.
And of course you will need some solder. You can get a reel of tin-lead rosin cored solder from your local electronics shop. Any kind of wire type tin-lead electronic solder is fine.
Don’t try to paint the outline of the stencil. Just stick to the back and forth motion described above. Forget that you are working with a spray paint stencil and just sweep across the entire stencil as though you are painting the whole area. Again, this is going to help you build up a gradual and even layer of color.
I also recommend using an in-line separator and nozzle with your air compressor. A separator is simply a cylindrical device that connects in-line with your air hose and nozzle. It separates out any moisture from the air that is coming out of the compressor, so that the air that comes out of the nozzle is relatively dry.
A wood lathe spins wood at high speed while woodturners stand in front of it. While the wood is supposedly held firmly in place, accidents happen and the wood can fly off the lathe. Unseen cracks and defects in the wood may react to a catch with a tool or merely with the centrifugal force of the turning and fly toward the woodturner’s face. For this reason a face mask should be worn.
Carpets, upholstery and other porous items are harder to clean. You will need to clean them, disinfect them, and then wait for them to totally dry. If you see any re-growth of mold, you will either have to throw that item away or get a mold removal professional.
